Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Yet Christians tend to miss the ‘meat’ of this great sandwich. Christ is the Truth. He is the Word, the Wisdom, the Image of the Invisible God. No-one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. Thus the Living God is invisible and unknowable outside of Jesus.

A theology, a life, stands or falls by this one Truth. If we begin our thinking anywhere else than in Jesus we will fall into idolatrous speculation. All theology must be founded upon, defined by, shaped after Christ and Christ alone.

Athanasius said it best: ‘The only system of thought into which Jesus Christ will fit is the one in which He is the starting point.’

This site is devoted to thinking through this simple yet decisive point. The implications for biblical, systematic, moral and pastoral theology are endless but I’ve tried to throw down a few thoughts that have helped me.

If you are new to these things 'The God who is...' will be a fruitful introduction. If you wouldn’t call yourself a Christian, why not find out more here.
